WHAT: The 6th Luisiana Worldwide Grand Reunion in 2009
We envision a convergence of Luisianians from all over the world coming together toward a common cause – reunite to serve and help our town and “kababayan”.
WHEN: July 3-5 2009. Experience the beautiful San Francisco and the Bay Area when flowers and trees are in full bloom and the weather is the best in US.
WHERE: Hilton Fremont/Newark, California. Centrally located and where major conveniences are easily accessible. Three major airports, San Francisco, San Jose and Oakland airports are only minutes away. BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit), is about 5 minutes away and can easily take you to San Francisco. WHY: Reunite for the right reasons.
v to renew old friendships, others may be in search of new ones, keeping abreast with what is going on in our beloved Luisiana and ”Kababayan”. A good time for “ustingan, kumustahan, kantahan at sayawan”.
v to attend for pleasure v for vacation for the family, curiosity or junket for others. Whatever your reasons, don't pass up v and most important for all, to participate and contribute to a worthy cause of helping our “kababayan”. Just to cite the association’s accomplishments since its establishment in 2005: 1) Financed the open heart surgery of Arjohn Rei Reodica (approx. $10,000). Purine Villatuya Santos and Vangie Villatuya Robles did most of the donation solicitations because this started as a project of the East Coast. 2) Financed the incorporation and tax exemption application of the association. 3) Donated hospital equipment (such as stetoscope and sphygmomanometer ) and two ECG complete with ECG supplies- one each for Luisiana Hospital and the Puereculture Center. Repaired the ECG at the hospital also this way they have two. 4) Plaza beautification project (donated 4 lamposts facing the Plaza Grand Stand) 5) Donated sports equipment (23 basketballs, 4 volleyballs, and 1 net) to the different Barangays 6) Repair existing street sign 7) Financed the Medical Dental mission held last March 2008 8) Donations to the following schools A. LBMHS repair B. San Buenaventura National HS (computer training scholarship for 15 students) C. Adventist Elementary School (scholarship) D. Luisiana Central Elementary School (Kindergarten Program school supplies) 9) Model Teachers Award 10) Five Boxes of hospital supplies donated to the hospital & puericulture center So save up, plan ahead and mark your calendars!
